I think this model have a week cooling system which leaves the CPU with high temperature and fan at high speed most of the time. for me, when I run dell self test (power off the machine, once it gets off, hold function key and at the same time press the power button).,Computer fans are widely used along with heatsink fans to reduce temperature by actively exhausting hot air. There are also more exotic cooling techniques, such as liquid cooling. All modern day processors are designed to cut out or reduce their voltage or clock speed if the internal temperature of the processor exceeds a specified limit.,Interestingly enough I did the same thing on my existing computer, and it didn't make a noise like the other PC. I doubt it will be a faulty CPU fan AGAIN (since I already replaced it), but what I'll do this weekend, is swap my CPU cooler/fan with the new PC's one, and see if the sound goes away. At least then we can eliminate the CPU cooler.,Should my CPU fan be working harder right now and keeping the CPU cooler? If this isn't an issue, I'm guessing it's all right to lower the threshold for cpu fan warning to something closer to 400-500RPM, right? If this isn't normal and it's an actual problem, what can I do about it? I mean, the fan is recognized by the system and it seems to ,A lot of other "computer fan troubleshooting" articles out there recommend software tools that force your computer's fans to slow down, but we never recommend those. There's usually a very good reason for a fan to be running fast or making noise, the root cause of which you're working to solve with the steps below.,The server has integrated P420i controller, which is known for running hot. I know the server has this "sea of sensors" and it manages the fan speeds according to them. But seeing as my P420i is running at 85°C and the fans on the side of the controller are spinning only at 20%, I'd like to increase their speed manually.,The main sources of noise are motors and spinning components such as the hard drive, CPU fan, case cooling fans, and power supply fan. and graphics boards get faster, they produce more heat ,Does a fan on the computer make too much noise? Find out what you can do or why it happens. Fan is Noisy and Spins Constantly (Windows 7) The noisy fan is the largest fan on the main circuit board inside the computer. This is a processor fan.,Figure 1. Profile of server fan noise. One Solution. One solution is to confine the propagation of much of the fan noise to a duct, and then use active noise control (ANC) to reduce the strength of the fan noise leaving the duct . A block diagram of a basic ANC system as applied to noise propagating inside a duct is illustrated in Figure 2.,My fan noise issue is with a specific Intel® Server Board. What are fan fixes for specific Intel® Server Boards? If your Intel® Server System consists of an Intel® Server Board S1200BT, consider changing the "Fan Controller" BIOS setting, which is found on Advanced/Hardware Monitor menu. Refer to this article if your board is an Intel
